This policy explains what personal data Lyncker·22 collects when you visit our website, subscribe to our newsletter, place an order or contact us, why we need it, and what your rights are.
In short
- We only collect the data we need to take and deliver your order, run the website and, if you agree, keep you updated and measure our ads.
- We never see or store your card details. Payments are handled by Stripe.
- If you agree, we use Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure our ads and Klaviyo to send you news. Without your consent, there is no tracking. We do not sell your data.
- You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.
1. Who we are
Lyncker·22 is responsible for your personal data.
Lyncker·22
Lynckerstraat 22f
2562 NZ The Hague
The Netherlands
Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 42065502
VAT number: NL869548955B01
Email: contact@lyncker22.com
2. What we collect, and why
When you visit the website
- What: your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you open, and the date and time. Our web server records this automatically.
- Why: to show you the website, keep it secure and find errors.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
- How long: 7 days.
When you use your cart
- What: a cookie with a random ID, linked to the items in your cart.
- Why: to remember your cart while you browse.
- Legal basis: it is necessary to provide the service you ask for.
- How long: up to 2 hours.
When you place an order
- What: your name, email address, delivery address, billing address, the items you ordered, the amount paid, the delivery method and a payment reference.
- Why: to process your order, ship it, send you a receipt, and deal with returns or warranty claims.
- Legal basis: it is necessary to carry out our agreement with you.
- How long: see "Our accounting records" below.
When an order is paid, we also save these details in an order record on our own server. The record also notes whether you accepted marketing cookies, whether we sent your order to Meta (see below), and whether you ticked the newsletter box at checkout. We send you an order confirmation by email, with your items, delivery details and expected delivery time, and we send a copy of the order details to our own shop mailbox. Our email provider handles these emails.
When you pay
- What: your payment details, such as your card number or your bank for iDEAL. You enter them on Stripe's payment page. We never see them and never store them.
- Why: to take your payment securely and prevent fraud.
- Legal basis: it is necessary to carry out our agreement with you.
- How long: Stripe keeps its own records under its own policy.
When you contact us
- What: your email address, your name and what you write to us.
- Why: to answer your question.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, or our agreement with you if your question is about an order.
- How long: until your question is resolved, and then up to 2 years.
When you subscribe to our newsletter
- What: your email address, and when and where you signed up: through a form on our website, or through the box you can tick in your cart before paying. If you tick the box, we use the email address you give at payment. We also record which version of our sign-up text you saw. After you have subscribed, Klaviyo records which of our emails you open and click. If you have also accepted marketing cookies, the pages and products you view on our website can be linked to your email address.
- Why: to send you news about new pieces, limited editions and releases, and to make those emails relevant to you.
- Legal basis: your consent. We send you an email asking you to confirm your subscription, and every email has an unsubscribe link. You never need to accept marketing cookies to subscribe.
- How long: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a block list so we do not email you again.
We keep a record of each sign-up on our own server (email address, time, where you signed up, and whether it reached Klaviyo). To protect the sign-up form from abuse, we also keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for one hour, only to limit repeated attempts.
Advertising on Facebook and Instagram
- What: a cookie ID, your IP address, browser and device details, and what you do on our website: viewing a product, adding it to your cart, starting checkout and placing an order, including what you ordered and the order value. We send this to Meta in two ways: from your browser through the Meta Pixel (which can also pick up details you type into forms on our website, such as your email address, and send them to Meta in hashed, scrambled form), and, once you have placed an order, from our server through the Meta Conversions API. Through our server we also send your email address, first and last name, city, postcode and country in hashed (scrambled) form, so Meta can match your order to a Facebook or Instagram account. For this, and only if you accepted marketing cookies, we attach your IP address, browser details and the two Meta cookie IDs to your payment session at Stripe until the order has been processed. Stripe keeps them with the payment record.
- Why: to measure how our ads perform, to show our ads to people who are likely to be interested, and to show you relevant ads.
- Legal basis: your consent. We use neither the Meta Pixel nor the Conversions API until you accept marketing cookies, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.
- How long: the Meta cookies last up to 90 days. Meta keeps the data it receives under its own policy. If you withdraw your consent after placing an order, we can no longer recall the order information we already sent to Meta.
Our accounting records
- What: the order and payment details described above.
- Why: Dutch tax and accounting law requires us to keep them.
- Legal basis: a legal obligation.
- How long: 7 years.
3. Who receives your data
We only share data where it is needed.
- Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. in Ireland, and Stripe, Inc. in the USA) takes your payment. It receives your name, email, delivery address and payment details. It also uses them to detect fraud, and for that purpose it decides for itself how the data is used. Read more at stripe.com/privacy.
- Shipping carriers (the delivery companies we use for your order) receive your name and delivery address, and your email or phone number if the carrier needs it. For parcels leaving the EU, customs authorities in the destination country receive what they need for clearance.
- Our hosting provider (Infomaniak Network SA, Switzerland) stores the website and its data for us.
- Our email provider (Infomaniak) handles the emails we send and receive.
- Klaviyo (Klaviyo, Inc. in the USA) sends our waiting list and newsletter emails and stores the related data for us. Read more in Klaviyo's privacy notice.
- Meta (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) receives the advertising data described above. We and Meta are jointly responsible for collecting this data on our website and passing it to Meta, under Meta's Controller Addendum. Meta alone is responsible for what it does with the data after that. Read more at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
- Authorities, if the law requires us to share data.
Where a company processes data on our behalf, we have, or will arrange, a data processing agreement with them.
4. Data outside the EU
Stripe, Klaviyo, Meta, and sometimes carriers and customs authorities, process data outside the European Economic Area. That includes the USA and the country you ask us to ship to. Our hosting and email provider store data in Switzerland, which the European Commission recognises as offering an adequate level of data protection. This happens on the basis of an adequacy decision, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses, or because it is necessary to deliver your order.
5. Cookies
These are necessary for the website to work:
kirby_sessionremembers your cart. It lasts up to 2 hours.lyncker_colorsis stored in your browser's session storage and keeps the colours you saw on the home page while you browse. It disappears when you close the tab.lyncker_consentremembers your cookie choice, so we do not ask you again on every page. It lasts 6 months.
Only if you accept marketing cookies in our cookie banner, we also use:
_fbpand_fbcare set by the Meta Pixel. They recognise your browser and connect your visit to our ads. They last up to 90 days.__kla_idis set by Klaviyo, which also keeps some data in your browser's local storage. It recognises your browser on return visits, so that, if you have signed up, the pages you view can be linked to your email profile. It lasts up to 2 years, and shorter in browsers that limit tracking cookies, such as Safari.lyncker_purchase_…is an entry in your browser's local storage. After you place an order, it remembers that the order was already reported to Meta, so reloading the confirmation page does not report it twice. It stays until you clear your browser's storage. It is not created if you rejected marketing cookies.
Necessary cookies are always on. Marketing cookies are only set, and data is only sent to Meta and Klaviyo, after you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link on our About page. The Stripe payment page is a separate service and may set its own cookies. See Stripe's cookie policy.
6. Automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you by automated means. Stripe runs automated fraud checks on payments. If a payment is declined by these checks, please contact us.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you (access);
- have incorrect data corrected;
- have your data deleted, where we have no reason or legal duty to keep it;
- ask us to limit how we use your data;
- receive your data in a usable format;
- object to processing that is based on our legitimate interests;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, email contact@lyncker22.com. We will reply within one month. We may first ask you to confirm who you are. Some data, such as order records, we are legally required to keep for the periods stated above.
If you are not happy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
8. Security
The website uses HTTPS. Your card details go straight to Stripe, which is certified to the PCI DSS payment security standard, and never pass through our server. Order records and newsletter sign-up records are stored on our server in a place that cannot be opened from the web, and only people who need them can reach them. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss and unauthorised access.
9. Children
Our website and products are not aimed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
11. Contact
For questions about this policy or your data, email contact@lyncker22.com.

2. Products
Our products include handcrafted and manufactured pepper mills and related accessories made from materials such as wood, brass, aluminium, and other natural or industrial materials.
As wood and brass are natural materials, variations in color, grain, texture, and finish may occur. These variations or small imperfections are considered normal and do not constitute defects.
3. Orders
- All orders are subject to acceptance and availability.
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion.
- Once production has started, changes to an order may not be possible. This does not affect your right to withdraw within 14 days of receiving the product (see Returns & withdrawal).
4. Pricing
- All prices are listed in EURO (€) and include VAT where applicable.
- A promotion code reduces the price of the products. It does not reduce the shipping costs, and it cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Shipping costs, import duties, customs fees, and taxes are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise stated.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors or inaccuracies.
5. Payment Terms
Payment must be completed before shipment unless otherwise agreed in writing.
We accept the payment methods shown at checkout.
Failure to complete payment may result in delays or cancellation of the order.
6. Shipping & Delivery
- Ready-to-ship pieces are dispatched within 3–5 business days. Made-to-order pieces have a lead time of approximately 4–6 weeks from the date of purchase.
- An order with both kinds of pieces is shipped in one package, once all pieces are ready.
- Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
- We are not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs, weather conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control.
- Risk of loss transfers to the customer upon delivery.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information.
7. Inspection Upon Delivery
Customers should inspect products upon receipt.
Any visible damage, defects, or incorrect items must be reported within 14 days of delivery by email including photographs and order information.
We assess every report on the photos and, if needed, on the product itself. As our products are handmade from natural materials, variations in colour, grain and finish are normal and are not defects. Your statutory rights are not affected.
8. Returns & Refunds
See the section "Returns & withdrawal" on this page.
9. Warranty
We warrant that our products are free from manufacturing defects under normal household use for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase.
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Natural aging or patina of brass
- Wood movement, grain variation, or color change
- Damage caused by misuse, moisture, improper cleaning, dropping, or commercial use
- Damage caused by unauthorized repairs or modifications
If a product is faulty, we repair or replace it or, if that is not possible, refund it. Your statutory rights are not affected.
10. Product Care
Customers are responsible for following the provided care instructions.
Improper care, including dishwasher use, water immersion, or unsuitable filling materials, may void the warranty.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Our maximum liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the product concerned.
12. Intellectual Property
All product designs, photographs, branding, logos, packaging, website content, and related materials remain the intellectual property of Lyncker·22.
No content may be copied, reproduced, or distributed without prior written permission.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of The Netherlands.

Returns & withdrawal
Your right to withdraw
If you are a consumer, you generally have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. However, returns or exchanges of made-to-order items are only possible in specific circumstances and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. If you wish to request a return or exchange for a made-to-order item, please contact us at contact@lyncker22.com. We will review your request individually and inform you whether a return or exchange can be accepted.
The 14 days start on the day you, or a person you name (other than the carrier), receive the product. If you order several products that are delivered separately, they start on the day you receive the last one.
To withdraw, tell us clearly that you want to withdraw, for example by email to contact@lyncker22.com. You can use the form below, but you do not have to. Send your message before the 14 days have ended.
What happens after you withdraw
We will refund all payments received from you, including the standard delivery costs, within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice. Refunds will be made using the original payment method. If you used a promotional code, we will refund the amount you actually paid. We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned product.
Please return the product without undue delay and, in any case, within 14 days of informing us of your decision to withdraw. All returned items must be sent using a shipping method that includes tracking. You are responsible for the return shipping costs unless the return is due to an error on our part. Please ensure that the product is returned unused and in its original packaging. We recommend keeping your tracking number and proof of shipment until your return has been processed.
You are only liable for any loss in value resulting from handling the product beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.
Damaged or defective products
Please inspect your order on delivery. Report damage, defects or a wrong item by email with photographs and your order information, within 14 days of delivery, as described in section 7 of our Terms. Your legal rights and our warranty (section 9 of the Terms) are not affected.
